Future Power Solutions for Exploring Hypothesized Surfaces (Team 2)

Electrical Engineering

Team 2: Chris Hashimoto, Matthew Lanzara, Mark Tanner, Kris-Vivien Serviño, Gena Parks

Summary

This project models and designs a photovoltaic and battery system to support rover mobility on the surface of asteroid (16) Psyche. Using environmental data and system simulations, the team evaluated various power configurations and identified a feasible solution that avoids energy deficits. The final design supports consistent low-speed rover movement and offers a feasible foundation for future mission expansion.
