The Power Transformer and its Application for Educational Demonstration of Power Electronics

Electrical Engineering

Team 47: Hunter Bridges, Sloan Sciarrapo, Adian Fritzke, Joe DiTullio, Connor Watson

Summary

The challenge addressed by this project is the lack of accessible, visual teaching tools for illustrating transformer concepts in educational environments. The objective is to develop two demonstration devices that translate abstract electromagnetic principles into observable, physical phenomena. It aims to teach core characteristics of transformers and power electronics to accrue interest in an underrepresented area of electrical engineering from high school students/early college undergraduates interested in STEM fields at Arizona State University.
