Summary

This project focuses on designing and demonstrating an optical authentication system that uses polarization imaging to distinguish genuine parts from counterfeit copies. Using a FLIR Blackfly color polarization camera in a controlled imaging setup, the system captures polarization-resolved data such as Stokes parameters, Degree of Linear Polarization (DoLP), and Angle of Polarization (AoLP) from mica- or oxide-based reflective pigments to generate a unique material fingerprint.
