Summary
The team designed and fabricated a prototype analog radio-frequency (RF) electronics module for the FARSIDE lunar radio telescope, a telescope that will be placed on the far side of the moon to detect low-frequency astronomical radio signals in the 100 kHz to 40 MHz range. This node will receive the RF signals from the antennas, separate them from the ac power, amplify them using high-impedance amplifiers, and convert them into optical signals by using RF-over-Fiber (RFoF) technology to transmit the signal through fiber optics to ensure high signal integrity.
