Summary
The Gall-O-Matic is a high-pressure test system designed to measure friction and galling behavior between aerospace materials under realistic cold-working conditions. It captures normal force, tangential force, and displacement to compute coefficient of friction in real time using a custom sensing and data acquisition system. By enabling rapid, low-cost testing with small material samples, it reduces development time and risk compared to traditional full-scale methods.
