FPGA Hardware Emulation: Atari 2600

Summary
Utilizing the advantages of an FPGA, our team has created an Atari 2600 hardware emulator. This emulator implements RTL/Verilog versions of each original chip in order to ensure that the project performs in the same way the original console did. With additional modules to modernize it for a modern display, the use of on-board features and pins to allow for interfacing with original controllers and cartridges, this project has given new life to old technology using modern design methods.
